Minyumai Indigenous Protected Area (IPA)

Boogal wa wiya
('Greetings')

Minyumai (a Bandjalang word for 'camping or meeting place') IPA is a 2000ha property  bordering the Bundjalung National Park and Tabbimoble Swamp Nature Reserves.  It was purchased by the Minyumai Land Holding Aboriginal Corporation (MLHAC) on behalf of the Bandjalang clan in 1999 and declared an IPA in 2011.

We celebrate the ongoing strength and resilience of our Bandjalang community and are proud of our achievements on our IPA and beyond.  We hope you enjoy learning about our language, culture, and how we Care for Country.

On 7th August, 2024, Minyumai IPA Rangers led a delegation to Parliament House in Sydney, calling for an inquiry into dingo management in NSW. Currently dingoes are the only native mammal excluded from protection in NSW.

Find out more about Ngugum (dingoes) on our IPA, and the National First Nations declaration and campaign for the non-lethal management of dingos.
